Anthony Joshua on Saturday, December 7, 2019, redeemed himself by defeating Andy Ruiz. Jr in the boxing heavyweight match in Saudi Arabia.
The British-Nigerian started the bout with high energy as he gave his opponent a bloody cut in the first round. From then on Anthony Joshua was dominant enough to be declared the winner.
Joshua has now taken back the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles which he lost to Ruiz on June 1, 2019, at Madison Square Garden in New York.
The Telegraph described Ruiz’s victory earlier in the year as “one of the biggest upsets in boxing history.”
Ruiz in an interview after the match said "there is a lot of responsibilities being the champion of the world and the party and other stuff got the best of him".
