Yesterday members of the Nigerian Senate at second reading voted against the Gender and Equal Opportunity Bill and this act has elicited reactions from different people especially the female folks.
Popular Nollywood Actresses Stella Damasus and Uche Jombo-Rodriquez took quickly to their Instagram Pages to express their feelings toward the sad development.
Stella Damasus questioned women on the need to protect the rights of women if every woman can’t put hands together to fight for it.
She also bashed women who only use social media as a form of showing off their designers outfits than talk about the rights of women

In a similar vein, Uche Jombo-Rodriguez also took to their instagram page to react to this sad development. She said "Women empowerment is not a threat". She also added that "every senator that voted against the bill should hide in shame..."
