Atleast 18 people lost their lives on Sunday night around 10:30 pm in a road crash at Buzaye Village, along Bauchi-Jos road, just 18 kilometres from Bauchi, the state capital.
The accident was said to have occurred when a truck heading towards Jos lost control and ran into an 18-Seater bus belonging to the Bauchi State Government Mass Transit killing all. 17 out of the 18 victims were said to have burnt to death beyond recognition.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Bauchi State Command, Haruna Mohammed has confirmed the incident. Haruna noted that the corpses have been deposited at the mortuary for a post-mortem.
