A graduate of the Nnamdi Azikiwe university (UNIZIK) recently passed on in his sleep
According to some of his friends who have taken to Facebook to mourn him, a promising young man identified as Endurance Oyeoka, died in his sleep on May 23.
The graduate who was awaiting a call to serve his fatherland in on of the upcoming batches of the 2016 National Youth Service Corps, reportedly slept and didn’t wake up despite not showing any signs of ill health or distress.
Here’s what some of his friends wrote on their pages:
“He slept and never woke up again. We defended project together, we took our TCRN oath and induction together. We ran the university race at UNIZIK together,and you await to crown it all with youth service, but you never saw the end. Death is conquered. Rest on my ever cheerful friend…..we, the entire students of English Language, literature and education in the faculty of education, 2015/2016 session will miss you brother. Rest in peace.”
Another friend said:
“That little trail of light flickering ever peacefully is how I remember you. That sincere gentleness that seduces the storm to bay. That noble stillness of homemade palm oil. That natural contention of a dog to tasteless bones. That lofty goal of perennial humility. Such were the ingredients of my loss. I just lost a friend, a course mate, a man of little words and deep thoughts. I wish I got to ruffle a little bit of your stillness through conversations I could have had with you.
Rest, brother Rest, friend Rest,giant. Rest in peace, Endurance Oyeoka. The Lord be with you as you journey on.
