Orubebe Found Guilty Of False Declaration Of Asset


The Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) on Tuesday found former minister of Niger Delta affairs, Elder Godsday Orubebe guilty of false declaration of asset.

Chairman of the tribunal, Danladi Umar who delivered the judgment convicted Orubebe of the offence.

Umar held that Orubebe committed an offence for not declaring a piece of property in Abuja, which he claimed he had sold.

He said, “‎I hereby seize, on behalf of the federal government, the property known as plot 2057.
“The prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt, and all evidence tendered are admitted.”
Orubebe who is well known for his public outburst at the INEC collation centre of the 2015 presidential election was charged before the court by the federal government on a one-count charge of false declaration of asset.
