An airplane carrying over 80 passengers including members of the Brazilian football team, Chapecoense has crashed in Colombia.
The plane, a British Aerospace aircraft,started its journey in Sao Paulo, Brazil, at 3.35pm local time and made a short stopover at Santa Cruz de la Sierra before heading for Colombia.
The aircraft had 72 passengers and eight crew members on board and initial reports confirm that there were only six survivors from the crash, including the goalkeeper of the Chapecoense team, Alan Ruschel. Twenty-two members of the team were onboard the aircraft as the team was scheduled to play Copa Sudamerica finals against Atlético Nacional on Wednesday in Medellin.
