President Buhari’s Son Flown To Germany For Treatment After Motorcycle Accident


President Muhammadu Buhari only son, Yusuf Buhari has been flown out of the country to Germany for treatment following his severe head injury in a power-bike crash.

He was flown to Germany on Thursday morning for specialist care.

He was driven to the Nnamdi Azikiwe airport, Abuja, in an ambulance with oxygen support, sources in the know said.

He was then flown out in an air ambulance, secured by the family, under the care of a Nigerian doctor and three paramedics.

An orthopaedic consultant with specialisation in head injuries was also on the flight to monitor the his progress.

The President’s son was involved in an accident in Abuja on Tuesday, December 26 and had been receiving treatment at Cedacrest hospital.

A statement by the Presidency said Yusuf broke a limb and had an injury to the head as a result.

"He has undergone surgery at a clinic in Abuja.

He is in a stable condition," the statement by a spokesman for President Buhari, Mr Garba Shehu.

"The President and his wife, Mrs Aisha Buhari, are thankful to Nigerians for the good wishes and prayers for their son. May God reward you all," it added.

It was gathered that doctors at Cedacrest hospital were scared of attending to him to avoid anything going wrong.

Yusuf is Buhari's only surviving son.
