Nigerians Come For Fashola After He Said Nigeria Needs 10 Trillion Naira For Infrastructure Development

The minister of power, works, and housing, Babatunde Fashola says Nigeria needs at least ten trillion naira to develop key infrastructures such as roads and power.

Fashola was speaking at a budget defense session organised by the House of Representatives committee on works.

Fashola, who was reacting to questions by members of the committee over the state of roads and other infrastructural facilities, said funding remains a major problem.

The committee raised issues over abandoned projects, stressing that Nigerians expected better delivery from the minister given his antecedent as Lagos state governor.

The lawmaker appealed to the minister to ensure that the second phase of the sukuk bond initiative is directed towards the completion of pending road projects across the country.

However, many Nigerians on social media have come for him over his statement.
