A 400level Accounting student of the University of Benin identified as Ify was last night rushed to the School Health Centre after an attempt to take her own life by drinking sniper.
According to reports, Ify who stays at the Hall 1 student hostel ingested the insecticide without her roommates being aware.
They had later rushed into the room and forced palm oil down her throat to reduce the effect of the poison.
She has been subsequently rushed to the school health centre for further treatment.
Ify’s last WhatsApp status update had been a cryptic message where she said that life wasn’t worth living.
Reasons behind her actions are yet to be ascertained till her expected recovery is complete.
