How 'Dead' woman start to breath again inside coffin on her burial day

Mourners in Ecuador were thrown into shock last friday after they found out at the wake keep of an elderly woman that she was still alive.

Doctors had earlier declared the 76-year-old Bella Montoya dead after she died of suspected stroke.

Five hours into her wake keep on Friday, family members who were about changing her clothes before burying her found her struggling to breathe.

Ms Montoya is currently at the Intensive Care in  hospital and the Ecuador health ministry has set up a committee to investigate what happened.

In a statement, the ministry said the woman had entered cardiorespiratory arrest which is loss of breathing and heart function, and didnt come back even after they tried to revive her back.

The doctor on duty then confirmed her dead.

Her son, Gilber Rodolfo Balberán Montoya told local news men "my mother was admitted around 9am and by noon, doctor told me she was dead".

Ms Montoya was kept in coffin for hours before family members saw her trying to breath.

A video posted on social media shows her lying on an open casket breathing heavily as people gathered around her.

She was later checked by Paramedics before been carried on stretcher into the ambulance.

She is currently at the Intensive Care in the same hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.

AFP news agency reports Balberán said "gradually i am beginning to understand what happened. Now i only pray my mum's health improves. I want her alive and by my side".
